Newly signed Broncos tight end Nick Vannett wasn’t paying much attention to Denver’s offense last season but he has heard good things about Drew Lock, the team’s second-year quarterback.
“I’ve heard some great things about Drew Lock,” Vannett said during a conference call with reporters on April 3. “His stats show it from when he was a starter. He was 4-1. He finished out and had a great season last year. Honestly, I wasn’t paying too close attention to what he was doing. I was more focused on trying to win some games for the Steelers.”
NFL offseason programs have been put on hold due to COVID-19 so Vannett won’t get to work with Lock anytime soon. When teams are allowed to begin working out and practicing again, Vannett will be eager to work with his new QB.
“Obviously, I think he’s got some great traits,” Vannett said. “I’ve heard a lot of great things about him. I’m excited to build that relationship with him and get ready to start working with him.”
