The Denver Broncos have started building their 90-man offseason roster by signing 15 players to future contracts, according to KUSA-TV’s Mike Klis. Players that are not on an active roster at the end of the season are eligible to sign future deals that become official when the new league year begins in March.
Three months from now, the 15 players below will officially join the team’s offseason roster. Note: DBs (defensive backs) on this list are safeties, not cornerbacks.
- OT Ka’John Armstrong
- WR Trinity Benson
- OLB Malik Carney
- TE Bug Howard
- DB PJ Locke
- WR Kelvin McKnight
- RB Khalfani Muhammad
- DB Tyvis Powell
- QB Brett Rypien
- DL Jay-Tee Tiuli
- LB Tre Crawford
- DB Kahanii Smith
- LS Wes Farnsworth
- P Trevor Daniel
- FB Jeremy Cox
Denver worked out three quarterbacks earlier this month but opted to bring back Rypien for 2020. Rypien spent time on the practice squad and active roster as a rookie this season. In 2018, wide receiver Tim Patrick was among the team’s future contract signigns and nose tackle Shelby Harris signed a future contract with the team in 2017. Patrick and Harris were both key contributors when healthy in 2019.
