Broncos Wire’s 90-man offseason roster series continues today with a look at second-year pass rusher Thomas Incoom, No. 59.
Before the Broncos: Incoom (6-2, 265 pounds) spent four years at Valdosta State, a Division II program in Georgia, but only played in two seasons. He had a redshirt freshman year in 2017 and his school did not play in 2020 due to COVID-19. He transferred to Central Michigan ahead of the 2021 season.
Incoom had a breakout year in 2022, earning first-team All-MAC honors after totaling 19 tackles behind the line of scrimmage and 11.5 sacks. Incoom’s impressive final season earned him invites to the Senior Bowl, the Shrine Bowl and the NFL combine last spring.
Broncos tenure: Denver signed Incoom as a college free agent following the 2023 NFL draft. He dressed for four games last fall, totaling two tackles. Incoom played 20 snaps on defense and 35 snaps on special teams in 2023.
Chances to make the 53-man roster: Toss up. Incoom’s chances of making the squad will depend on how many OLBs the Broncos plan to carry on the active roster in 2024. Baron Browning, Jonathon Cooper, Nik Bonitto, Drew Sanders, Jonah Elliss and Ronnie Perkins are all above Incoom on the depth chart, but Sanders is expected to begin the year on injured reserve. If he doesn’t end up on the 53-man roster, Incoom would be a top candidate for the practice squad this season.
