Broncos rise two spots in NFL power rankings after fifth straight win

The Broncos are ranked 13th in USA TODAY’s NFL power rankings, up two spots from last week.

Following a 29-12 win over the Cleveland Browns (7-4) on Sunday, the Denver Broncos (6-5) have now won five straight games, putting them into the playoff conversation.

With that impressive winning streak in mind, USA TODAY‘s Nate Davis now has the Broncos ranked 13 in his latest NFL power rankings. That’s up two spots from their No. 15 ranking last week.

Here is Davis’ commentary on Denver this week:

With two rushing TDs in Sunday’s win over Cleveland, Denver tripled its season total. Now, the AFC’s hottest team (5 straight wins) embarks on a three-game road trip to Houston, at the Chargers and Detroit – which could well be its defining stretch of the regular season.

Elsewhere in the AFC West, the Kansas Chiefs (8-3) are ranked No. 3, the Los Angeles Chargers (4-7) are ranked No. 21 and the Las Vegas Raiders (5-7) are ranked No. 22.

The Houston Texans (6-5), who will host the Broncos on Sunday, are ranked No. 9.

The Carolina Panthers (1-10) are ranked No. 32 (last) and the Philadelphia Eagles (10-1) are ranked No. 1. To view the complete NFL power rankings going into Week 13, visit USATODAY.com.
