If not for the Houston Texans intentionally tanking, the Denver Broncos would likely be considered the worst team in the NFL this season.
As things stand entering Week 14, Nate Davis has the Broncos ranked 31st in his latest NFL power rankings for USA TODAY Sports. (Depressing reminder: there are 32 teams in the league.)
Here is Davis’ commentary on Denver this week:
Not only does no team have more trouble scoring, Denver has 22 fewer points than the next-worst offense (Houston).
Elsewhere in the division, the Kansas City Chiefs are ranked No. 5, followed by the Las Vegas Raiders (No. 19), Las Angeles Chargers (No. 20) and the Broncos, who will host KC on Sunday. It’s a bit of a surprise to see the Raiders jump above the Chargers this week.
The Philadelphia Eagles remain ranked No. 1 on Davis’ list and the Texans remain ranked No. 32 (last). To view Davis’ complete NFL power rankings going into Week 14, visit USATODAY.com.
