Broncos ranked 17th in NFL power rankings before season begins

We have a feeling the Broncos will be ranked a bit higher after Week 1.

The NFL’s season opener is now just one day away!

Before the season kicks off, the Denver Broncos are considered the 17th-best team in the NFL, at least in the mind of Touchdown Wire’s Barry Werner.

Werner released his rankings at the end of preseason last week and he’s not quite ready to buy into the Broncos’ hype before they prove it on the field.

“The Broncos have the ability to move up significantly with Russell Wilson. Can’t justify them climbing too many rungs at this point due to recent history and a rookie coach,” Werner wrote on the List Wire.

Denver is the worst-ranked team in the division, behind the Kansas City Chiefs (No. 1), Las Vegas Raiders (No. 13) and Los Angeles Chargers (No. 15) in the AFC West.

Werner has the New York Jets ranked No. 32 (last) and, as noted, the Chiefs are No. 1. To view the complete NFL power rankings ahead of Week 1, visit the List Wire.
