Broncos might get reinforcements on the injury front this week

Broncos WR Brandon Johnson is eligible to return from injured reserve this week. TE Greg Dulcich became eligible to return last week.

The Denver Broncos might get some reinforcements on the injury front this week ahead of their showdown with the Houston Texans on Sunday.

Broncos tight end Greg Dulcich (hamstring) was eligible to return from injured reserve last week, but the team did not open up his 21-day practice window. Denver coach Sean Payton said two weeks ago that he expects Dulcich to return this season, but he did not give an exact timeline.

Meanwhile, Broncos wide receiver Brandon Johnson (hamstring) was placed on injured reserve five weeks ago, and he has missed the minimum four games and is now eligible to return to the active roster.

Denver’s passing game hasn’t skipped a beat while Dulcich and Johnson have been sidelined. Over the last four games, quarterback Russell Wilson has thrown seven touchdown passes with zero interceptions. Adam Trautman has stepped up at tight end and Lil’Jordan Humphrey has gotten more looks at receiver.

Dulcich and Johnson are talented players, though, so the Broncos will be eager to welcome them back to the offense whenever they’re cleared to play.
