In his latest NFL mock draft for Touchdown Wire, Doug Farrar has the Denver Broncos selecting Oklahoma wide receiver CeeDee Lamb with the 15th overall pick.
Like many draft pundits, Farrar pointed out that Denver should give Drew Lock another receiver to complement Pro Bowler Courtland Sutton.
“He’s a plus player in just about every relevant receiving attribute with the possible exception of route diversity, and that can be improved over time with an athlete of this caliber,” Farrar wrote. “In the short term, Lamb gives Lock another immediate target and makes Sutton even more dangerous.”
In Farrar’s mock draft, Alabama’s Jerry Jeudy (No. 12; Las Vegas Raiders) was already off the board but Henry Ruggs (No. 19; Miami Dolphins) was still available. It’s hard to imagine Ruggs falling that far on draft day.
The Broncos certainly need more depth at receiver so that will likely remain a popular position for the team to target in mock drafts. ESPN’s Mel Kiper has Denver selecting Ruggs in his most recent mock draft.
