Broncos injuries: WR KJ Hamler (hamstring) out ‘a couple weeks’

Broncos wide receiver KJ Hamler will miss several weeks with a hamstring injury.

The Broncos were hit by the injury bug at practice Thursday.

Todd Davis, a starting inside linebacker, suffered a leg injury and was carted off the field. After practice, KUSA-TV’s Mike Klis tweeted that Davis has a calf injury. The severity of the injury is not yet known.

Denver wide receiver KJ Hamler has a hamstring injury and will miss a couple of weeks, coach Vic Fangio said after practice.

Hamler (5-9, 178 pounds) was selected by the Broncos in the second round of April’s draft. He was a dynamic receiver and returner at Penn State, totaling 1,658 receiving yards and 13 touchdown catches in two years.

Broncos outside linebacker Von Miller (elbow) and running back Melvin Gordon (ribs) were pulled out of practice. Pulling Miller and Gordon might have just been precautions but that remains to be seen.

Denver wide receiver Juwann Winfree (groin) and tight end Nick Vannett (concussion protocol) were held out of Thursday’s practice.
