For the second consecutive day, the Broncos had 11 players sidelined with injuries at training camp on Tuesday.
Wide receiver KJ Hamler (hamstring), linebacker Todd Davis (calf), linebacker Justin Strnad (wrist; out for year), receiver Juwann Winfree (groin), cornerback Michael Ojemudia (quad), tight end Austin Fort (knee), defensive back Alijah Holder (soft tissue), cornerback De’Vante Bausby (soft tissue), outside linebacker Malik Carney (illness; not COVID-19), wide receiver Tim Patrick (soft tissue) and defensive lineman Mike Purcell (calf) all sat out practice Tuesday.
Denver’s players will get a much-needed day off Wednesday before returning to the field Thursday. Broncos coach Vic Fangio said Patrick and Bausby have a “good chance” to return to practice Thursday and Purcell is 50-50 to return after Denver’s day off.
Fangio also indicated that Hamler and Ojemudia will be sidelined awhile longer.
“You can refrain from asking me about those two for a while — Hamler longer than Ojemudia,” Fangio said.
