Broncos given C- grade for offseason moves

Seems a bit harsh.

The List Wire’s Barry Werner recently graded each NFL team’s offseason moves and gave a harsh grade to the Denver Broncos.

Sean Payton did more of letting go than bringing in talent this offseason. He is still in a culture-rebuilding stage and may feel good about the roster he has in place after letting go of big names such as Russell Wilson and Justin Simmons.

Still, Werner thinks Denver could have done a little more to bolster their roster.

“Trading for Zach Wilson and drafting Bo Nix in the first-round borders on the silliness Atlanta did,” Werner wrote on List Wire. “No qualms about Nix but putting Wilson in another role to be doomed can’t keep him happy. WR Josh Reynolds was one of the more interesting names in free agency. Kicker Wil Lutz was leaving for the Jaguars, then he wasn’t. Nix will be happy to have fourth-rounder Troy Franklin in the WR room. They were both Oregon Ducks. Grade: C-”

The Broncos organization can only trust Payton as he tries to right the ship. We will see if his vision for the roster comes to fruition in 2024.
