Broncos expected to place 2 players on reserve/PUP list

The Broncos are expected to place Drew Sanders and Delarrin Turner-Yell on the reserve/PUP list, ruling them out for at least four games.

As the Denver Broncos begin trimming the 91-player squad down to a 53-man roster, two roster moves should be easy decisions.

The Broncos are expected to move linebacker Drew Sanders (Achilles) and safety Delarrin Turner-Yell (ACL) from the active/physically unable to perform list to the reserve/PUP list. Sanders and Turner-Yell won’t count against the 53-man roster once moved to the reserve list.

Sanders and Turner-Yell were on the active/PUP list for all of training camp while rehabbing from their respective 2023 injuries. PUP players who are not cleared in time for the regular season are moved to the reserve list.

Sanders and Turner-Yell will be required to sit out the first four games of the 2024 season. After that, they will have a five-week window to return to practice. Once they begin practicing, PUP players have a 21-day window to return to the active roster.

If the five-week or 21-day windows pass without the player being activated, he will spend the entire season on reserve.
