The Denver Broncos have elevated one player from their 17-player practice squad to the game-day roster for Sunday’s showdown with the Miami Dolphins.
The Broncos called up running back Dwayne Washington, adding him to the active roster for Week 3.
Washington, 29, played under coach Sean Payton from 2018-2021. He has rushed 168 times for 592 yards and one touchdown in 84 career games (two starts). Washington also has 16 receptions for 101 yards on his resume.
Each player on the practice squad can be elevated to the game-day roster three times during the season without having to clear waivers in order to revert back to the practice squad after the game.
This marks the second of a possible three elevations for Washington in 2023. Last week, the veteran running back played 18 snaps on special teams.
Sunday’s game against the Dolphins will begin at 11:00 a.m. MT. Miami is considered a betting favorite at home (view the TV map here).
