Broncos cut CB De’Vante Bausby

The Broncos waived cornerback DeVante Bausby.

The Denver Broncos have waived cornerback De’Vante Bausby, according to a report from The Denver Post‘s Ryan O’Halloran. If he clears waivers, Bausby would be eligible to sign with the practice squad.

Bausby (6-2, 190 pounds) entered the league as an undrafted free agent out of Pittsburg State with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2015. He went on to spend time with the Chicago Bears and Philadelphia Eagles before a stint in the Alliance of American Football with the San Antonio Commanders last year.

Denver signed Bausby spring and he won significant playing time before suffering a season-ending neck injury. Bausby was competing for the Broncos’ No. 3 cornerback job this offseason and it’s a bit of a surprise to see him let go.

After trading away Isaac Yiadom and waiving Bausby, Denver might be settling on a six-man cornerback room of A.J. Bouye, Bryce Callahan, Davontae Harris, Michael Ojemudia, Duke Dawson and Essang Bassey.
