Broncos continue rising in NFL power rankings

The Broncos rose another spot in NFL power rankings this week.

The Denver Broncos (3-2) defeated the Las Vegas Raiders 34-18 on Sunday, marking the team’s third-straight victory.

Following that win, the Broncos are trending up and they are now ranked No. 17 in Nate Davis’ latest NFL power rankings for USA TODAY Sports. That’s up one spot from their No. 18 ranking last week.

Here is Davis’ commentary on Denver going into Week 6:

Only the Chargers are allowing fewer points per game than the 14.6 of the Broncos, who also have 19 sacks and eight takeaways.

Elsewhere in the AFC West, the Kansas City Chiefs are ranked No. 1, the Los Angeles Chargers are ranked No. 18 and the Raiders are ranked No. 27. The Broncos are now set to host the Chargers at Empower Field at Mile High on Sunday, seeking their fourth straight win. Despite playing at home, Denver is considered an underdog against Los Angeles.

The Cleveland Browns are ranked No. 32 (last). To view the complete NFL power rankings, visit USATODAY.com.
