Broncos climb three spots in NFL power rankings

Can the Broncos turn their season around?

Following a 19-17 win over the Green Bay Packers (2-4) on Sunday, the Denver Broncos (2-5) are now ranked No. 25 in Nate Davis’ latest NFL power rankings for USA TODAY Sports. That’s up three spots from their No. 28 ranking last week.

Here is Davis’ commentary on Denver going into Week 8:

About time Kareem Jackson was taken off the field, the 35-year-old safety finally suspended (four games) after multiple ejections and four fines this season for his ongoing pattern of dangerous and illegal hits.

Elsewhere in the AFC West, the Chiefs are ranked No. 1, the Los Angeles Chargers are ranked No. 21 and the Las Vegas Raiders are ranked No. 23. The Broncos remain the lowest-ranked team in the division.

Denver will host the Chiefs on Sunday. The Broncos lost 19-8 when they traveled to Kansas City two weeks ago.

The Carolina Panthers are ranked No. 32 (last) and the Philadelphia Eagles are ranked No.2 behind KC. To view the complete NFL power rankings going into Week 8, visit USATODAY.com.
