The Denver Broncos confirmed on Thursday evening that defensive lineman Billy Winn was released and the team announced that cornerback Horace Richardson was waived.
Winn (6-4, 300 pounds) had two different stints in Denver and spent the entire 2017 and 2019 seasons on injured reserve after sitting out the 2018 season. With multiple season-ending injuries, he might have a hard time continuing his career.
Because he is a veteran, Winn is not subject to the NFL’s waiver wire. He is now a free agent.
Richardson (6-0, 190 pounds) spent time with the Minnesota Vikings, Detroit Lions and Kansas City Chiefs before joining the Broncos in 2018. He was competing for a rotational spot in the secondary and a special teams role last summer before suffering a season-ending back injury.
After spending all of last season on injured reserve, Richardson will now enter the league’s waiver wire. If he goes unclaimed, Richardson will become an unrestricted free agent and will be able to sign with any team.
