[autotag]Brok Weaver[/autotag] has his UFC debut scheduled.
The 2019 Dana White’s Contender Series product will return next month at UFC on ESPN+ 25 in a lightweight matchup against [autotag]Kazula Vargas[/autotag]. The news was announced by Weaver on Instagram and MMA Junkie later confirmed with Vargas’ side.
UFC on ESPN+ 25 takes place Feb. 15 at Santa Ana Star Center in Rio Rancho, N.M., near Albuquerque. The event is headlined by a light heavyweight rematch between Corey Anderson and Jan Blachowicz.
Weaver (14-4 MMA, 0-0 UFC) was scheduled to debut in the promotion in October against Thomas Gifford, but was forced to withdraw from the bout due to undisclosed reasons. The 28-year-old fighter most recently competed in August, when he outpointed Devin Smyth on DWCS to win a UFC contract.
The 34-year-old Vargas (11-3 MMA, 0-1 UFC) debuted with the promotion in August and lost a unanimous decision to Alex da Silva. The former Combate Americas fighter trains out of Mexican Pride Gym in Mexico City.
