If you’re not already aware, Brian Kelly grew up just outside Boston.  It’s been publicized that he is a big Red Sox fan and attended the 1975 World Series between the Red Sox and Cincinnati Reds, although he wasn’t sure exactly which of the games in that fall classic it was.

Kelly stated he still was a Patriots fans when asked by Patrick about his childhood NFL allegiances and offered something a bit more compelling as he shared a few details about his relationship with Bill Belichick.

Kelly shared that he’ll exchange texts with Belichick regularly in regards to how each others teams played and shared that it was the charity work of both their significant others that led to their relationship.

Patrick then shared that he’d like to see Belichick take the Navy job whenever he decides he’s had enough in the NFL to which Kelly disagreed because the Midshipmen are on Notre Dame’s schedule each year.
