After a somewhat gloomy injury report and a lack of a certain contract extension on Thursday, this morning appeared a bit brighter for the Carolina Panthers.
Just two days ahead of their regular-season opener against the Atlanta Falcons, the team saw the trio of outside linebacker Brian Burns and wideouts DJ Chark and Adam Thielen hit the practice bubble for today’s session.
Brian Burns in uniform again today. And it looks like DJ Chark might do a little more.

Chark, Thielen, and Burns all out here for practice. Good news on all fronts.

Burns, of course, remains in pursuit of a new big-money deal. But even without an agreement to this point, he also remains a participant in practice throughout the week.
With the two-time Pro Bowl pass rusher going silent, it is not clear if he plans on suiting up for the Week 1 showdown this Sunday. Head coach Frank Reich and defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero have not been able to divulge any further details on Burns’ status either.
As for the less tense situation, Chark (hamstring) and Thielen (ankle) return to the turf after missing out on Thursday’s practice. This afternoon’s upcoming (and final) injury report should give us a better idea of their availability for the matchup.
