Brian Burns, Derrick Brown return to practice on Friday

After missing out on Thursday, both OLB Brian Burns and DT Derrick Brown returned to practice for the Panthers this morning.

The Carolina Panthers got themselves a couple of sights for sore eyes on Friday morning.

After missing Thursday’s practice, both defensive tackle Derrick Brown (ankle, knee) and outside linebacker Brian Burns (ankle) returned to the field for today’s session.

Carolina’s defense has already been without three of their starters in the early portions of the season. Cornerback Jaycee Horn has missed four games with a hamstring injury, linebacker Shaq Thompson has missed three due to a broken fibula and safety Xavier Woods has missed the last two with a hamstring issue of his own.

But with some really good news came a bit of a downer.

As noted by Darin Gantt of Panthers.com, safety Vonn Bell was not present for the start of Friday’s practice. The eighth-year veteran popped up on yesterday’s report with a quadriceps injury and was listed as a limited participant.

Hopefully for the Panthers, they get Bell back—especially for what’ll be a tough matchup against the dynamic Miami Dolphins offense.
