The Philadelphia 76ers are dealing with the injury bug as they had to endure some issues on Sunday in their 102-97 scrimmage loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder. They played the game without Joel Embiid and Raul Neto and then they lost Glenn Robinson III in the first half of the game.
Before he left with a left hip pointer injury, Robinson III was playing pretty well. He scored seven points while knocking down 2-for-3 from deep and he had three rebounds before leaving. This comes after a solid effort in Friday’s scrimmage opener when he had five points and a triple.
Despite the setback, coach Brett Brown does not expect it to be serious and he has been happy with his play so far. Not just in games either, he has shown a lot in practice.
“He had a hip pointer. I was told to take him out because of that,” Brown said. “Nothing that serious. I think he’s been playing really well. I’ve been happy with him all over the place. He had great practice sessions as well.”
Robinson III will be fighting for rotational minutes along with Furkan Korkmaz and Matisse Thybulle so for his sake, he needs to play in Tuesday’s scrimmage finale against the Dallas Mavericks. [lawrence-related id=35553,35545,35523]
