According to [autotag]Brendan Allen[/autotag], there’s footage of former Kill Cliff FC teammate [autotag]Ian Machado Garry[/autotag] getting knocked out in the gym.
Allen and Garry have shared the mats several times at Kill Cliff, but Garry no longer trains there after being matched up with his teammate, Vicente Luque. Garry (13-0 MMA, 6-0 UFC) meets Luque (22-9-1 MMA, 15-5 UFC) at UFC 296 on Dec. 16 in Las Vegas.
Allen, a rising contender in the middleweight division, doesn’t like how Garry portrays himself as invincible, especially after he was allegedly knocked out in training by a former teammate.
“I’ve met Ian, I know Ian, and I feel like you can put this persona on, but actions speak louder than words, and I think this is also one of those actions to where it speaks louder than words,” Allen told ESPN. “He can say what he wants, he can make whatever excuse he wants, and then like, you get things like, someone post a video of Shavkat (Rakhmonov) and Jason (Jackson) wrestling, I was there on that day. I watched it. I was two feet from it.
“One, I feel how I feel about the video but two, I think he commented somewhere on there. I heard someone say he commented somewhere on there. It’s like, he records everything, right? They record everything. But just know, there’s video, and he knows what name not to say to let it come out what happened to him. I’m not going to release it, but just know there is someone in that gym that has slept him out.”
Allen didn’t speak too fondly of Garry when recounting his time with him at Kill Cliff FC and said the brash Irishman just rubs him the wrong way.
“I think he’s whack,” Allen said. “I think he’s young. I think he’s misled. I think he talks way too much, but I understand he’s trying to be like Conor. But there’s only one Conor, sorry.”
