Wisconsin top underclassman cornerback Jonas Duclona announced his intention to enter the transfer portal on Monday.
Duclona is now the fourth Badger set to enter, joining QB Cole LaCrue, OLB Leon Lowery and CB Amare Snowden. The announcements all follow Wisconsin’s season-ending loss to Minnesota, with the winter transfer window set to officially open on Monday, Dec. 9.

“A special thank you to Coach [Luke Fickell], Coach [Paul] Haynes and the entire University of Wisconsin staff for their unwavering support over the past two years,” Duclona wrote on X. “You have shaped me into the player I am today. With that being said, I will be entering the transfer portal with three years of eligibility remaining, ready for the next chapter of my journey.”
The cornerback originally joined the Badgers as a three-star recruit in the class of 2023. He committed to the program in December 2022, just after Luke Fickell was hired as head coach. His addition was an important one as Fickell quickly worked to salvage the class in limited time.

Duclona departs after playing in 15 games over two years with the Badgers. He played 12 games as a true freshman in 2023, recording three total tackles. He figured to play a significant role in the room in 2025 and beyond with top starters Ricardo Hallman and Nyzier Fourqurean likely moving on after the 2024 campaign.
Both Duclona and Snowden were key recruiting wins for Fickell and his staff in the months after taking over. Both are now entering the portal after two years with the program.
Duclona surely won’t be the last domino to fall in what should be a busy offseason of player movement. For updates on Wisconsin’s full list of incoming and outgoing transfers, bookmark our 2024 transfer portal tracker.
