Texas A&M football received a tough blow of news early Wednesday morning. According to reports, quarterback Conner Weigman will miss the rest of the 2023 season with a foot injury.
This latest update comes in the aftermath of conflicting reports earlier in the week, with head coach Jimbo Fisher indicating Weigman’s injury timeline was “day-to-day.” AggiesToday shared that his sources indicated Weigman would be out for roughly two to four weeks with a high ankle sprain.
Unfortunately, it appears a few more days were needed for clarity. Billy Liucci of TexAgs shared that his sources very close to the situation confirmed that Weigman’s foot injury was, indeed, season-ending. In adding further context, Liucci shared that Weigman faces a roughly three-and-a-half-month recovery timeline.
Liucci’s update follows up the initial report by Brent Zwerneman of the Houston Chronicle, with added terms of the timeline since Saturday and for Weigman’s recovery.

With Weigman’s 2023 season officially over, senior Max Johnson will take over the starting reins going forward. The Aggies’ next matchup will be against Arkansas in the Southwest Classic on Saturday, Sep. 30.
