BREAKING: Joe Burrow out for the year with torn ligament in wrist

Bengals and former LSU quarterback Joe Burrow will miss the rest of the 2023 season after his injury during Thursday Night Football.

The Cincinnati Bengals received the worst possible news on Friday following former LSU quarterback Joe Burrow’s injury against the Baltimore Ravens in Thursday Night Football.

Burrow, a Heisman winner with the Tigers and first overall NFL draft pick, will miss the remainder of the 2023 season with a torn ligament in his wrist, head coach Zac Taylor announced. The diagnosis was confirmed by an MRI on Friday.

It’s another tough break for Burrow, who suffered a calf injury in training camp that was aggravated earlier in the season, causing him to miss some time. Now, the Bengals will have to fend for a playoff spot without their franchise quarterback.

In a since-deleted video before the game, Burrow was spotted wearing what appeared to be a soft cast on his wrist. After he appeared to be limited before aggravating the injury, the NFL has launched an investigation into why Burrow didn’t appear on Cincinnati’s injury report, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Without Burrow, Jake Browning seems to be the Bengals’ quarterback for the rest of the way.
