Colorado is really banged up against Utah, and I mean REALLY banged up.
While we already knew Brenden Rice wouldn’t play, the Buffs’ offense took another hit when Brian Howell of BuffZone reported that Jarek Broussard would be out as well due to a non-COVID related illness.
Before Friday, there was no hint of Broussard having to miss Friday’s season finale.
Defensively, the Buffs are arguably even thinner. Nate Landman will miss fifth consecutive game, but he’ll join Jack Lamb, Mekhi Blackmon, Guy Thomas, Joshka Gustav, Janaz Jordan and Kaylin Moore on the sidelines.
On Monday, Dorrell said that Lamb would miss, but Jordan and Thomas were question marks. All three are now sidelined.
Blackmon has been battling soft tissues injuries all season but he was able to play against Washington last week. Either his injuries have worsened, or Dorrell is playing it safe in the final game.
So, the Buffs are missing their top RB (Broussard), their top WR (Rice), 2 of their 4 best ILB (Landman & Lamb), 2 of their top 3 OLBs (Thomas & Gustav), 2 of their top 4 corners (Blackmon and Moore) and one of their top 5 DL (Jordan). #cubuffs
