Breaking down Packers’ final injury report of Week 12 vs. 49ers

Breaking down the final injury report of Week 12 before the Packers take on the San Francisco 49ers.

The Green Bay Packers ruled out cornerback Jaire Alexander and linebacker Edgerrin Cooper and listed defensive lineman Colby Wooden as questionable on the final injury report before facing the San Francisco 49ers in Week 12.

How will the injury situation affect Sunday’s showdown?

Here’s an in-depth breakdown of the Packers’ final injury report ahead of Week 12:

Out (2)

CB Jaire Alexander (knee): The veteran cornerback didn’t practice all week and will miss his fourth game of the season. Alexander is dealing with a PCL tear in his knee but isn’t expected to go on injured reserve. Without him on Sunday, the Packers will roll with Keisean Nixon, Carrington Valentine and Eric Stokes at perimeter cornerback.

LB Edgerrin Cooper (hamstring): The rookie linebacker injured his hamstring during Wednesday’s practice and missed practices on Thursday and Friday. He could be in danger of missing next Thursday against the Dolphins, too. The Packers have Quay Walker, Isaiah McDuffie and Eric Wilson available at linebacker.

Questionable (1)

DL Colby Wooden (shoulder): He missed last week’s win over the Chicago Bears but could return after getting in limited practices on Wednesday and Thursday and a full practice Friday. It’s possible the Packers could still make him inactive given the overall health of the roster.

No status designation

The following players have no status designation and will be available to play on Sunday vs. the 49ers: DL Kenny Clark, RB Josh Jacobs, OL Elgton Jenkins, C Josh Myers, LT Rasheed Walker, S Evan Williams.

49ers injury report

The 49ers ruled out quarterback Brock Purdy (shoulder) and edge rusher Nick Bosa (hip/oblique), giving the Packers a massive injury advantage. Brandon Allen will start at quarterback. The 49ers pass rush has been far below average without Bosa on the field this season. Left tackle Trent Williams didn’t practice all week but is questionable to play with an ankle injury. Cornerback Charvarius Ward (personal reason) also won’t play Sunday.
