Breaking: Cause of Owusu-Koramoah NFL draft slide revealed

Did this warrant a drop from 17th or so overall to 52?

We’ve wondered for days how Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah lasted until the 52nd pick in this year’s NFL draft and we at least have a reason for his drop versus projected position.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the former Notre Dame star linebacker and 2020 Butkus Award winner had a heart issue that came up late in the process and that was a concern for most teams.  Schefter also added that doctors eventually cleared him but that it was the reason for his fall.

The Cleveland Browns moved up seven spots from 59 to 52 in order to draft the linebacker on Friday night.

Here’s to hoping the heart issue turns out to be nothing serious now or down the road for JOK and that he’s able to make up the money he lost by falling when he signs his second NFL contract a few years down the road.
