The first domino to fall in North Carolina’s plan to “run it back” next season has happened.
Forward Armando Bacot has made his decision and is returning to the UNC basketball program for his senior season. This is huge news for the Tar Heels on Wednesday as it means at least one of the “Iron Five” is coming back for one more run at this.
The former five-star recruit who had a career year for the Tar Heels in 2021-22 released a video on his Twitter account to announce his decision. And we have to warn you, it’s going to get you fired up:

Bacot averaged 16.3 points and 13.1 rebounds per game last season while shooting 56.9 percent from the floor. He was named First Team All-ACC but finished runner up in the conference’s player of the year award behind Alondes Williams of Wake Forest.
UNC is still awaiting the decisions of Caleb Love, Leaky Black and R.J. Davis.
