Breakdown of Tennessee’s 2020 offensive recruiting class by position

2020 Tennessee football recruiting.

OFFENSIVE LINE

Cooper Mays, 4-star from Knoxville, Tennessee

Mays is one of the few signees in this class whose recruitment began during the Butch Jones era and continued with Pruitt. The son of former Tennessee lineman Kevin Mays and brother of current lineman Cade Mays, Cooper never wavered in his commitment and was a centerpiece of the 2020 class, recruiting other players to join him.

The No. 6 center in his class and an early enrollee, Mays may have to wait to contribute behind a loaded offensive line in 2020, but was a huge get for Tennessee’s future, preserving the pipeline into Knoxville Catholic High School.

Javontez Spraggins, 3-star from East St. Louis, Illinois

Pruitt’s staff embarked on a mission to beef up the offensive line upon arriving in Knoxville, and that continues with the 6-foot-3, 338-pound Spraggins.

Although he doesn’t tower over opponents, Spraggins impressed the Vols in camp and has a heavy-set frame with a wide base that can be developed by offensive line coach Will Friend. Spraggins was rated the No. 12 center in the country, but could play guard for Tennessee.

James Robinson, 3-star from Montgomery, Alabama

Robinson held offers from SEC schools such as Auburn and Ole Miss, but signed for Tennessee during the Early Signing Period.

Rated the No. 47 guard in the country, Robinson stands at 6-foot-4, 323-pounds, fitting the size Tennessee is looking for in that position.
