Breakdown of Tennessee’s 2020 offensive recruiting class by position

2020 Tennessee football recruiting.

WIDE RECEIVER

Jalin Hyatt, 4-star from Dutch Fork, South Carolina

Although he will need to add weight after arriving on campus, Tennessee is excited about Hyatt, who rates as the No. 33 wide receiver prospect in his class.

Hyatt finished his high school career as a state champion in South Carolina, after an incredibly productive high school career. Hyatt will give Tennessee an element it was missing in 2019, with the ability to take the top off a defense with his speed. Look for Hyatt to contribute early in his career as a deep threat for Tennessee.

Jimmy Calloway, 4-star from Morrow, Georgia

Tennessee clearly was looking to add speed to its wide receivers room in 2020, and they continued to succeed on that mission with the signing of Calloway, rated the No. 36 wide receiver in his class.

Calloway played multiple positions, including quarterback for Morrow High School and garnered serious interest from Auburn, Virginia Tech, Kentucky and others.

Malachi Wideman, 4-star from Venice, Florida

A late addition who signed during the late period on Feb. 5, Wideman was a nice surprise for Tennessee fans as the Vols pried him away from Florida State.

Wideman has freakish athleticism and speed for his 6-foot-4, 197-pound frame. Rated as the No. 22 wide receiver in the country, Wideman is also a blue-chip basketball recruit with elite bounce that will get a chance to play for Rick Barnes in Knoxville.

Demarcus (Dee) Beckwith, 3-star from Florence, Alabama

Joining Wideman as one of two players signed during the late period, Beckwith is listed as the No. 18 athlete in the country, but comes to Tennessee with plans to play wide receiver.

Beckwith has the size to play tight end, and the athletic ability to play wide receiver. Expect him to join Wideman as another football signee to get a shot at playing basketball, as Barnes continues to reap the benefits of Jeremy Pruitt’s recruiting at Tennessee.
