Brazile added to Karl Malone Watch List on Thursday

Sophomore forward Trevon Brazile was named to the Karl Malone watch list for the nation’s most outstanding power forward on Thursday.

Trevon Brazile is hoping for a big year in 2023-24 after getting his season cut short because of injury a year ago.

On Thursday he was named to the Karl Malone Award watch list, which honors the nation’s top collegiate power forward.

Brazile, a 6-foot-10 redshirt sophomore, averaged 12 points and 6 rebounds and shot 38 percent from behind the 3-point line in nine games played last season.

Other players from the SEC also on the list include Alabama’s Grant Nelson, a North Dakota State transfer, and Mississippi State’s Tolu Smith.

Duke’s Kyle Filipowski, who visits Fayetteville on Nov. 29, also appears on the list.

The list itself includes 20 players and a national committee of top college basketball personnel will vote on the award.
