Ed Oliver’s new contract was only just announced.
That doesn’t mean the conversations began just as recently.
While breaking down the four-year extension during an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show, Bills general manager Brandon Beane revealed that conversation date back much further.
Had those originally went Beane’s way, Oliver’s extension might have happened before the team took the field last season.
“He’s a big part of our interior (defensive line),” Beane said. “He makes our defensive better when he’s out there.”
