Brandin Podziemski earns votes in NBA GM survey for biggest steal in draft

The Warriors rookie earned votes in one category of the latest NBA GM survey.

While Steph Curry’s name is littered across the lasted NBA GM Survey, one other member of the Golden State Warriors earned votes in one category of the preseason survey done by general managers from around the association.

Voted on by GMs, Brandin Podziemski landed in the top five of the biggest steals in the draft for 2023. Podziemski received 7% of the votes, slotting in behind Jaime Jaquez Jr., Scoot Henderson, Keyonte George and Cam Whitmore.

The Warriors drafted Podziemski with the No. 19 overall pick out of Santa Clara in the recent 2023 NBA draft. During his sophomore season, the 6-foot-5 guard averaged 19.9 points on 48.3% shooting from the field with 8.8 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.8 steals in 32 games.

Podziemski impressed in his preseason debut with the Warriors on Saturday, registering 11 points on 5-of-11 shooting from the field to go along with six boards and four assists in 26 minutes off the bench against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Podziemski will have the chance to build on his solid start to the preseason on Friday night in an exhibition rematch against the Lakers in Hollywood.
