Brandin Cooks tweets ‘free me’ but it’s not what you think it means

Not a trade request!

You have to be careful what you tweet when you’re an NFL player who could be a part of trade rumors.

Brandin Cooks found that out last weekend when he tweeted two words and a hand-to-face emoji: “Free me.”

Sound the TRADE RUMORS bells! Could Cooks be traded yet again after the Saints dealt him to the Patriots in 2017 and then New England sent him to Los Angeles the very next year?

Turns out it’s a false alarm. Cooks’ teammate Cooper Kupp jumped in to clarify that the wideout wants to be freed from isolation due to social distancing. Rams fans will be relieved:

What’s more, Peter King was told by “two sources” that Cooks isn’t “on the block.” So that would further point to the receiver just wanting to have life to go back to normal, just like the rest of us.
