Brandin Cooks seemed furious to see Mark Ingram get traded to the Saints

Yeah, he wasn’t happy.

The Texans are in such a rough spot that we have players getting fired up about Mark Ingram. Like, it’s that bad.

According to a Wednesday report from NFL Network, the Texans are trading the veteran running back to the New Orleans Saints, reuniting him with the team that he spent the first eight years of his career with.

Ingram, who turns 32 in December, had been splitting snaps with Phillip Lindsay and David Johnson in Houston. He only had one touchdown for 294 yards (on 92 attempts) this season. But he was still a veteran presence in a locker room that was generally devoid of talent. And wide receiver Brandin Cooks particularly hated the message that the trade sent to the rest of the team.

He took to Twitter after news of the trade broke and posted this tweet. (NSFW language)

Again, imagine getting that animated about Mark Ingram in 2021. But that’s basically the state of the Texans right now.

On the flip side, Alvin Kamara was pretty pumped to have Ingram sharing a backfield with him again.

And while Ingram has had a rough go thus far this season, a new situation with a familiar team could be just what he needed. Cooks, though, might just have to tweet through it.
