Brady Tygart named Freshman All-American…again

Arkansas’ freshman closer is one of the best in the nation, regardless of age.

Last week, Arkansas freshman pitcher Brady Tygart was honored by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper as a Freshman All-American.

Now he has a second such honor.

Tygart was one of three relievers named to the Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Freshman All-American team on Monday. He’s held opponents to a .212 batting average over his 37 1/3 innings while striking out 51.

Tygart joined freshman lefty Hagen Smith on the CBN Freshman All-American team last week, marking the sixth straight year the Razorbacks have had a first-year player named to such a team.

The Razorbacks continue their season on the weekend with a first-round game in the College World Series against No. 2 Stanford with the first pitch scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday.
