Brad Brownell and the Clemson basketball team have had a phenomenal start to their season, sitting at 6-0 as the Tigers head into their first ACC game against Pittsburgh.
Brownell met with the media Friday to update the injury status of two Tigers. His first update came for guard Alex Hemenway, who didn’t play in Clemson’s big win over Alabama. It is a ligament injury for Hemenway, one that Brownell called a rare injury.
“It’s a ligament that’s kind of a rare injury that the trainer says he really hadn’t seen, and he could be out a month. So it’s just, you know, I hate it for him because he’s had a bunch of these lower leg issues right now, and he just can’t quite get past it…he’s battling,” Brownell said.
His next update came for transfer forward Jack Clark, who has been dealing with soreness and, according to Brownell, isn’t close to 100%. He is on a day-to-day status but continues to play through his injury.
“He’s not close to 100%, and he’s trying to play, and he’s frustrated. The poor guy had a surgery that didn’t take; he had to do it again. He’s been battling to get it right. He lives in the training room. He’s still just really sore all the time. I don’t think he feels good,” Brownell said.
Clemson hits the road to take on Pittsburgh, with tip-off at 2 p.m., on the ACC Network.
