The Vikings drafted LSU product Justin Jefferson with pick No. 22 in the NFL Draft, a choice they received in exchange for Stefon Diggs.
Minnesota gave Diggs to the Bills for draft picks. Now, the team will go about replacing Diggs with the rookie wide receiver. Bleacher Report thinks that’s the biggest thing the Vikings are looking forward to in 2020.
Here’s what the outlet said about Jefferson:
“Zimmer suggests Jefferson can move across the offensive formation and pointed to the wide receiver’s route-running ability. The rookie first-rounder will likely take snaps in spots other than the slot. His versatility gives offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak more options in the passing attack.”
Jefferson tallied 111 receptions for 1,540 yards and 18 touchdowns for the Tigers in 2019, en route to a National Title. His versatility will help add an interesting dimension to the Minnesota offense.
Hopefully, soon enough, the Vikings will progress in the passing game to the point where it appears that Diggs won’t be missed.
