The Brooklyn Nets have made moves this offseason that allowed them to make the team better for the present and for the future. However, there are some who believe that the Nets lost a lot over the course of this summer.

In a recent article by Bleacher Report, Greg Swartz stated that Brooklyn’s biggest loss this offseason was how much shooting went out the door along with the draft picks needed to make those moves happen. For example, Swartz pointed out how the Nets traded Joe Harris to the Detroit Pistons in order to have enough money to re-sign Cam Johnson.

While re-signing Johnson was the most important task for Brooklyn this offseason, Swartz mentioned that the Nets had to attach draft capital to players like Harris and Patty Mills in order to entice the other teams to take those players off their hands.

Granted, Brooklyn traded second-round picks, which can be valuable down the line, but are not as valuable as any of the first-round picks that the Nets have at their disposal. However, Brooklyn has lost a lot of shooting by way of Yuta Watanabe (44.4% three-point shooter), Seth Curry (40.5%), and Mills (36.6%).
