The conclusion of the college football regular season means it is time to go bowling.
The Big 12 Conference earned two spots in the New Years Six with both participants in the Big 12 Championship earning a spot. The Big 12 has accomplished this for the third straight year.
- 2018: Oklahoma (College Football Playoff), Texas (Sugar Bowl)
- 2019: Oklahoma (College Football Playoff), Baylor (Sugar Bowl)
- 2020: Oklahoma (Cotton Bowl), Iowa State (Fiesta Bowl)
Due to the fact that two teams made the New Years Six, the Texas Longhorns earned a bowl bid to the Alamo Bowl. This marks the first time since the 2012-13 Alamo Bowls that the Longhorns will participate in the same bowl in back-to-back seasons. The Longhorns won in 2012 against Oregon State but lost to Oregon in 2013.
At this point, there are six conference teams heading to the bowl season. Texas Christian, West Virginia, and Oklahoma State will join the top three teams with bowl appearances. Dates, time, and tv coverage are provided below.
