2022-2023 College Football Playoff Projections
TCU can absolutely get to the College Football Playoff, and it will if it goes 13-0. Flip a coin on whether or not it will win the Big 12 Championship and get in, but for now the call continues to be that it’ll drop the title game to Kansas State, but that’s hardly set in stone.
So with that …
1. If the College Football Playoff committee holds true to form, it’ll take 12-1 or unbeaten Power Five conference champions over anyone else. That just got easier with Tennessee losing.
2. Assume the Ohio State-Michigan winner will beat whatever comes out of the SEC West – likely Iowa or possibly Purdue – will be in.
3. Assume Georgia – even if it loses the SEC Championship – gets in as long as it beat Georgia Tech this week.
4. Let’s not get into the idea of LSU winning the SEC Championship or any other wacky scenarios quite yet. This is about projecting what will happen.
5. Clemson still has to get by South Carolina and beat North Carolina in the ACC Championship. The call is that it’ll happen
6. The call is very, very sheepish that USC will get past Notre Dame and then – most likely – Oregon to finish as a 12-1 Pac-12 champion. That gets it done to get in as the No. 3 seed.
