New Year’s Six Bowl Projections 2022-2023 Championship Week
USC lost, Utah won, and that changes a whole lot.
First, that means Notre Dame is out of the ReliaQuest Bowl with the assumption that the Orange takes Tennessee over a Big Ten team. This also assumes TCU will beat Kansas State in the Big 12 Championship, putting the Wildcats in the Sugar.
Utah’s win puts in in the Rose, and all the weirdness about Ohio State and the Rose Bowl not wanting to go on a second date is gone with Penn State in and the Buckeyes most likely off to the CFP.
And USC? It’ll drop in the final rankings, but not enough to be out of the New Year’s Six – the Cotton Bowl vs the UCF/Tulane American Athletic Conference winner would be a good fit.
