8. Barstool Sports Arizona Bowl

Pre-Bowl Ranking: 2021: 17, 2020: 11, 2019: 38

This had one giant flaw that was baked into the bowl glut cake.

It got ignored by the big networks because it was a Group of Five vs Group of Five website game going on while UCLA and Pitt were finishing off a wacky game in the Sun, and Notre Dame and South Carolina were doing whatever that was in a crazy Gator.

Wyoming was missing way too many guys, Ohio came into this with a questionable defense, and it all led to a Barstool Sports Arizona Bowl that turned out to be very, very, very good.

It wasn’t really explosive, and it bogged down in the second half, but it was 18-17 Ohio deep into the fourth. And then came the finish with two field goals and a touchdown in the final four minutes on the way to overtime.

Wyoming kicked a field goal, Ohio scored a touchdown, and in so many ways, this might have been the most evenly played and gripping game of the bowl season – at least until the College Football Playoff semifinals.
