Michigan vs Georgia
DT Jordan Davis, Georgia: The great defense needs a star and anchor to work around, and the 6-6, 340-pounder was it. He might not get into the backfield, and the 28 tackles were fine, but his job is to occupy everyone on the inside – stats don’t matter all that much. He’s what every NFL team is looking for on the D line.
WR George Pickens, Georgia: Just how healthy is the star receiver? He blew up late last year with 291 yards and three scores in his last two games – including a monster day against Cincinnati – but he was out for most of the season with a knee injury. He only has three catches ins two games since coming back, but the time off might be enough to get him back to form.
DE Aidan Hutchinson, Michigan: The Heisman finalist was the heart-and-soul tone-setter for the Michigan defense – and the team – as he grew from a great player and NFL prospect to a signature star and possible top five overall pick after leading the team with 14 sacks, 15.5 tackles for loss among his 58 tackles.
RB Hassan Haskins, Michigan: The season was already going well with several big performances, but it was the 169-yard, five-touchdown day against Ohio State the turned him into a Michigan legend. He closed out the regular season with 1,288 yards and 20 scores with seven multi-touchdown games.
