Kansas State vs LSU
DE Felix Anudike-Uzomah, Kansas State: A reserve and part of the rotation in his freshman season, the 6-3, 255-pound was a dominant force of a pass rusher this year with 11 sacks and 14.5 tackles for loss an an All-Big 12 run. While he’s a wee bit feast-or-famine as a pass rusher, he was steady against the run.
RB Deuce Vaughn, Kansas State: Don’t be fooled by the 5-6, 173-pound size; he’s as tough as nails and can be used as a workhorse runner. Dangerous in the open field and great around the goal line, he ran for 1,258 yards and 15 scores, caught 47 passes for 471 yards and three scores, and when needed, he can handle the ball at least 20 times.
QB Max Johnson, LSU: Will he be Brian Kelly’s guy when the time comes? The 6-5, 220-pounder has talent and experience, and he’s careful with the ball with just six picks and none in the last three games. Up-and-down in the team’s up-and-down year, he close with two huge days in wins over ULM and Texas A&M – 625 yards and five touchdowns. Now the O is on him.
LB Damone Clark, LSU: While he could still end up getting ready for the NFL Draft, he has one more shot to raise his stock just a little bit more. The 6-3, 240-pound senior has size and the all-around ability the next-level types want with a team-high 137 tackles with 5.5 sacks and 15.5 tackles for loss.
