Iowa vs Kentucky
LB Jack Campbell, Iowa: The Hawkeyes always have high-volume tackling linebackers, but Campbell is a wee bit different. He’s a defensive end-sized linebacker with great range and toughness against the run, making a team-high 149 tackles with just enough pass rush ability to matter. With his 6-5, 243-pound frame, he’s tough to throw over.
C Tyler Linderbaum, Iowa: The Iowa offensive line wasn’t all that great. It struggled for the running game and allowed way too many plays in the backfield, but the 6-3, 290-pound Linderbaum still had an All-America-caliber season and will soon be an NFL starter on someone’s interior. He’s a technician who could go in the first round.
RB Chris Rodriguez Jr., Kentucky: Pound, pound, and pound some more, the tough 5-11, 224-pound veteran back became the main man everything works around. He didn’t do much in losses to Georgia and Mississippi State, but he ran for 99 yards or more in all nine of the other games against FBS teams.
DE Josh Paschal, Kentucky: The Wildcats needed more of a pass rush – and veteran leadership – and the 6-3, 278-pound fifth-year senior provided it. He was always good over his first few seasons, but this year he took over with 5.5 sacks and 15.5 tackles for loss to go along with 53 stops.
