Penn State vs Arkansas
QB KJ Jefferson, Arkansas: The 6-3, 245-pounder came into his own with close to 2,600 passing yards and 21 touchdown passes with just three picks. A bruising runner who can hit the home run, he took off for 554 yards and five scores. With his size, quiet feet, and big arm, he’s as cool as calm-looking as a quarterback gets.
WR Treylon Burks, Arkansas: The team’s leading receiver – the No. 2 man has 21 catches – the explosive 6-3, 225-pound Burks made 66 grabs for 1,104 yards and 11 scores, and he occasionally gets used for the rushing attack. Red-hot at the end of the regular season, he ripped through Alabama and Missouri for 15 catches for 308 yards and three scores.
QB Sean Clifford, Penn State: Banged up in key parts of the season, ineffective in others, it’s been a strange year. With a few weeks off to rest up, now we get to see him try continuing the success of the amazing 313-yard, three-score day against Michigan State to close out the regular season. He threw 20 touchdown passes with six interceptions with no picks in the final four games.
S Jaquan Brisker, Penn State: One of the best players on the excellent secondary, the 6-1, 200-pound senior should be a key part of an NFL defensive backfield next year at this time. The All-Big Ten performer made 64 tackles with two picks, five broken up passes, and six plays in the backfield.
