Memphis vs Hawaii
QB Chevan Cordeiro, Hawaii: A baller’s baller, he’ll run a little bit, he’ll grind for yards, and he’s been able to crank up the passing game with well over 700 yards with five scores ins last two games to get the Rainbow Warriors to six wins. He’s not consistent, but he’ll make the offense move.
LB Darius Muasau, Hawaii: A huge hitter with 275 career tackles in his three years, he has turned into even more of an all-around playmaker this year with seven sacks and 14 tackles for loss. He filled up the stat sheet with double-digit stops in five of the last seven games.
WR Calvin Austin, Memphis: He’s not all that big, but the 5-9, 162-pounder can fly. One of the best receivers in the American Athletic Conference over the last two seasons, he followed up a huge 2020 with a team-high 74 catches for 1,149 yards and eight scores. He returned a punt for a score and ran for a 69-yard touchdown, too.
TE Sean Dykes, Memphis: Built more like a fullback than a dangerous pass catching weapon of a tight end, the 6-2, 224-pound sixth-year senior earned All-American Athletic Conference honors with 48 catches for 657 yards and seven touchdowns. He has 14 touchdown grabs over his last two seasons.
